Home Theater v.s. Media Room

Excellent sonic and video reproduction can be had in nearly any home environment with the right planning. Often, our clients choose not to dedicate a whole room to a theater, rather choosing to create a media room where the family can spend time together in a less formal entertainment setting. The primary difference between dedicated home theaters, and media rooms/entertainment centers is our ability to control the environment. In most cases, media rooms are placed in settings where there is less control over ambient noise and light than is ideal. Acoustic treatment methods that are often a welcome décor addition in a dedicated theater, are often difficult to work into normal living areas. Dedicated theaters are a very controlled environment where creating the best possible experience is the primary focus. With the right tools, and careful planning, media rooms are capable of rivaling the performance of dedicated theaters. When the lights go down, the experience should still remove the audience from their surroundings.
